On 15 October 2025, the Federal Council presented a project aimed at strengthening the fight against money laundering. This project, based on ordinances, provides for the creation of a register of beneficial owners and the extension of the Money Laundering Act to certain advisory activities.
On 29 January 2026, VAV submitted its position statement on the Ordinance on the Transparency of Legal Entities and the Identification of Beneficial Owners (TJPV). VAV welcomes the strengthening of the provisions in favour of the integrity of the Swiss financial centre. However, in order to ensure legal certainty and avoid unnecessary burdens, it deems selective adjustments as desirable.
